Dauntless by Dina L. Sleiman

What a fun story from Dina L. Sleiman.  It's a Robin Hood type adventure with a strong female lead character who has a huge heart and many struggles to overcome.  She cares for the orphans from the village she grew up in that was destroyed by a ruthless king. She loves and protects these children as her own. But they must live as outlaws and to survive, must do things they know are wrong.  The story is based on her struggle to overcome the past and her fears of the future. Will she be able to accept true love in her heart and who is the right person to give her that love.  Is she even ready for love at this point.  Can and will she ever allow God into her heart.  It was a fun read that kept you guessing right until the end. There was one or two things that I personally do not believe in that took place, so it kind of ruined that part for me, but that is just personal beliefs.  Overall it was a well written book and a nice change from 1800s romance.  *I was given this book from Bethany House for an honest review.
